Darwin Young "Pete" Carter, Jr., 73, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026 at his residence in Cleves, Ohio. He was born in Bright, IN on October 13, 1952, the son of the late Darwin and Gloria Carter, Sr. Pete was the owner and operator of a bar. He enjoyed fast cars, traveling and road trips and going to buffets. Pete often went to flea markets and festivals held in Friendship, IN. He was a fun-loving person who cherished spending time with his grandson. Preceding Pete in death were his parents; his wife, Barbara Swinford Carter and a brother, Paul Carter. Those left surviving include his children, Mike (Samantha) Swinford and PJ (Toni Morano) Carter III; brothers, Jace Carter and Daniel Carter; grandson, Austin Gunnyyoung Carter; nephew Tyler Cook; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Services for Pete will take place in the near future at the convenience of the family.
