I am so sorry to hear this sad news. I went to grad school with Katie back in New York, and she was such a joy to know! This is a real loss to the world, in addition to her family. I know she loved you a lot and I am so sorry for your loss.

I'm devastated to hear this news. I enjoyed working with Katie and was inspired both by her leadership here in Dayton and for her unflagging enthusiasm for her native Covington. She had the most marvelous combination of humility and self-confidence, caring deeply for others and quietly proud of her own work and accomplishments. Everyone here at the Dayton Performing Arts Alliances offers our deepest condolences to her family. Personally I will miss (have already missed!) her warm and enthusiastic presence in our community. May the angels lead you into Paradise, and the hosts of heaven welcome you.

Katie was a light to me as well. She was so âkindâ and full of energy and helpful to everyone. She was inclusive and motivated. And did things the âright wayâ when ever I talked to her. May god rest her soul. Incredibly saddened. God bless the family and loved one! A light that shines will never stop. I met Katie Meyer when she worked in Covington. She was younger than me - I believe instantly excited about everything. I loved her immediately, she was infectious and ready to go. She instantly stood up for those who couldnât stand up for themselves and was fearless about it. Nothing was impossible. We were working on a wireless project at the time in smart city. She was innovative so right in the action. Tip of spear. She started working with Dan Mazza and Cincinanti bell with a project to help people in Covington in a digital inequality enablement solution. Uplifting the âhave notsâ in a way that helped the âhavesâ as well. A truly âeveryone benefits solutionâ. One of the first in the country of its kind. Perfect for her as she was tech, Gov and understanding of process and driven to push through. She also had heart. Then she went on to to more of that in more places. I have talked to her a fews times to give her #hope and #love recently. I wish more. Absolutely beautiful human inside and out.

Katie will be missed. Her genuine smile and positive can-do spirit was infectious and had a true impact on her role in Dayton, albeit much too briefly. All the best to her family and friends as her tremendous loss is processed in the coming days and years.

Dayton has lost a community leader. Katie was instrumental in bringing the NATO PA to life, spearheading the visual efforts downtown including the Dayton Peace Sign that is now outside the Schuster Center, and even coining the phrase âNATO Village.â Our community is forever changed because of her dedication and vision at the DDP. Katie will be missed, my condolences go out to Katieâs family and loved ones.

A truly devastating day for all of us who knew and admired Katie. It was a great pleasure to experience her visionary leadership in creating a welcoming downtown Dayton for foreign dignitaries and the international media during Dayton 2025. Her enthusiasm and passion for showcasing local artists to a global audience as well as advocating for the installation of the Dayton Peace Sign will never be forgotten by the community. May Katie find eternal peace and her family and friends find comfort in knowing her memory lives on in them.
