Katie was a good friend at UK. We played club soccer together at UK and quickly realized we also both cared deeply about social justice. She was funny, smart, and passionate. We got to attend the 2003 Women’s World Cup in Columbus together. Sadly the venue was pretty empty. But we moved down to practically field level, met a few fans from other countries, laughed and talked, and watched women from all over the world play their hearts out, which I will remember forever. Thank you for all you gave to the community, Katie! You will be so missed.
