Larry James Brake, 75, of Covington, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran, serving as a radio operator. Larry earned the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Combat Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, One Overseas Bar, and his Sharpshooter Qualification Badge. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Asella "Sally" Brake; and siblings, Lenny Brake, Marian Keim, and Sylvia Overmann. Larry is survived by his children, Stephanie (Peter) Christofilakos, Chris (Sarah Barton) Brake, and Timmy Brake; siblings, Tom (Yelonda) Brake, Robert (Kathy) Brake, and Bonnie (Roger) Kays; grandchildren, Laki, Lily, Lazo, Lyla, Kaden, Peyton, Chloe, and Zoe; caregiver and niece, Amy (Jason) Barnes; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, from 12:30 P.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 P.M. at St. Patrick Church, 3285 Mills Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. Interment and Honor Guard Service will follow at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY.
