Joseph (Joe) Barry Rieskamp, “Captain Save a Ho”, 78, of Park Hills, passed away on November 2, 2026.  Born March 7, 1948, to the late Harold and Irene (Fritch) Rieskamp, Joe was a public servant to Northern Kentucky.  God blessed him with knowledge and wisdom in his civil duties as a police officer, firefighter, paramedic, and Deputy Coroner.  He lived to serve his community with gumption.  He began as a Covington police officer in 1970 and retired in 1995 as chief.  This led to emergency medicine, paramedicine, fire service, and coroner.  Many first responders in the Greater Cincinnati area have been counseled or influenced by this legend’s knowledge over the years.  His ability to lead and serve his community will not be easily forgotten.  His service was not limited to community.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. If anyone needed help, he came running. There are countless examples of his generosity within his own family unit. He is the father that his son wishes to become and the grandfather that looked out for his grandchildren.  Joe loved his family with all he had.  He will be missed.  Joe leaves behind his loving wife: Reynolds Breyley; as well as his daughter: Yvonne (Chris) and son: Bryson (Julie); in addition to five grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother: Jim Rieskamp.  A Celebration of Joe’s Life will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Independence Senior Center, 2001 Jackwoods Parkway, Independence, KY 41051.  Come share your stories.  Memorials are suggested to: Retired Covington Police Chief Joseph B. Rieskamp c/o F.O.P. Lodge #1, 516 East 18th Street, Covington, KY 41014.  Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 is serving the family.  Online condolences may be expressed on Facebook or at www.connleybrothersfuneralhome.com
