Edward “Knute” Hacker, 88, of Covington, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Hospice in Edgewood, KY. He proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Knute was the owner and operator for over 50 years of Community Dry Cleaners at 15th & Holman in Covington, KY. He was also the Secretary for the Mother of God Cemetery Board of Directors, a member of St. Benedict Church, a member of the St. Benedict Holy Name Society, a member of the St. Benedict Festival Committee and volunteered with St. Benedict Bingo. Knute is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years: JoAnn Herzog Hacker; son: Ed (Sandy) Hacker; grandchildren: Brittany Hacker and Alex Hacker and several nieces and nephews. A Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2018 form 9:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Benedict Church, 338 East 17th Street, Covington, KY 41014. I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Knute. If I had known my wife and I would have been there at the visitation and maybe even the mass. Prayers for Aunt Joann and Eddie.
A real gentleman. I knew him for over 50 years and never heard him say or do an unkind thing. I regret that I was unable to attend the funeral at St. Bens., yesterday. May the angels welcome him to God, most high, give him eternal rest and may light unending shine upon him. May the Lord bless and give strength to Joanne, Ed and other members of Knutes family.
Mr. Hacker was undoubtedly, one of the finest men I have ever met. He and Mrs Hacker were regulars when I worked at Kroger on 15th and Madison. The man always had something positive to say. The world could use more people like him.
He will be missed!
