Thomas Joseph Berger, 71, of Indialantic, FL, previously of Covington (Latonia), KY, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was a Holy Cross High School graduate and a dedicated employee of the Cincinnati Enquirer where he worked as a Journeyman Mailer. He worked with the paper from 1969 until his retirement in 2011. Tom loved family, life and sports, especially: golf, fishing, horse racing and the NFL. His grandchildren were the “light of his life,” along with his daughter. In February of 2015 he moved to Florida to be closer to his daughter and her family, but still made several trips back to Kentucky to see family and friends. Tom was preceded in death by his parents: Florence R. and Frank C. Berger; son: David Wayne Berger and brother: Robert (the late: Jean) Berger. He is survived by his daughter: Laura (Greg) McCabe; son: Daniel Lee Berger; brothers: Donald A. (Donna) Berger and Richard C. Berger; sisters: Mary Lynn (William) Crockett, Denise (the late: Donald) Eviston and Marita R. (Lawrence) Corman; grandchildren: Andrew McCabe, Jaden McCabe, Sam McCabe, Lydia Renee Berger and Joshua Daniel Berger; great-grandchild: Braydyn Daniel Berger Luckey along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and golf buddies. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until the Memorials Service at 6:00 P.M. at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. I remember him, and his older brothers from Holy Cross High School, and growing up in Latonia.
