Carl Douglas Franklin, 75, of Covington, KY passed away on Friday, November 19, 2021. He was a retired shipping and receiving clerk for Lighting Systems Inc, a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War, a board member and inductee in the Northern KY Sports Hall of Fame and an inductee in the Holmes High School Sports Hall of Fame. Carl was preceded in death by his parents: Ed and Kathryn Franklin and siblings: Edward Franklin, Jr., John Franklin and Alice Simmons. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Kathy Franklin; children: John (Teresa) Franklin, Brian (Melanie) Franklin and Amanda Franklin; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law: Phyllis Franklin. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 338 East 17th Street, Covington, KY 41014 from 9:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment with a Military Honor Guard Service will follow at Kentucky Veterans North Cemetery, Williamstown, KY, 41097. Memorials are suggested to: St. Benedict Church.
