Carol J. “Lulu” Devenny, 78, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018 at her residence in Burlington, KY. She was an Executive Legal Secretary with Reuven J. Katz for 35-plus years and a 40-plus year member of Covington Turners. Carol enjoyed playing Euchre, she loved animals and she was a former volunteer with meals on wheels and Am Vets. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert J. Devenny; daughter: Kathryn R. Gibson and grandson: Adam Sellers. Carol was also a loving sister to the late: Loretta Bowman. She is survived by her daughter: Terry (Jim “Hammer”) Hamel; brother-in-law: Darrell Bowman; sister-in-law: Kate (Jeff) Neuman; grandchildren: Angel R. (Adam) Huenefeld, Ivy Jo Beagle and Bryson Gibson; step-son: John “Billy” Devenny; step-daughter: Shawna Devenny; 3 step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 from 11:00 A.M. until the Catholic Blessing at 1:00 P.M. Interment: Highland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Kenton County Animal Shelter, 1020 Mary Laidley Road, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. After the cemetery service, friends and family are invited for a celebration of Lulu’s life at Covington Turner’s. I was so sorry to hear that Carol succumbed to the cancer. Please accept my sincerest condolences as I will be unable to say goodbye to her and show my respect to the family. I will be in the hospital for testing tomorrow. I regret that I cannot attend, please know that my prayers are with the family.
