Carolyn Rae Davis Rice, RN, MRN, MPA, passed away on Saturday, May 01, 2021 in McKinney, TX. A chapel service and interment will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 01, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, KY. Carolyn was born in Covington, KY to Mary Ella (Gammon) and Hubert Clayton Davis on June 04, 1937. She graduated from Holmes High School in 1955 and began college at the University of Cincinnati. She married James Leslie Rice on January 13, 1956. Carolyn returned to college at Texas Woman's University to pursue a degree in nursing, completing her degrees at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. Carolyn began her administrative career working for the State of Utah, Division on Aging and Adult Services. Upon returning to Texas, she worked as the Executive Director of a Geriatric Wellness Center, serving the needs of senior citizens, until her retirement in 2014. Carolyn was appointed as a Texas Delegate to the 2005 White House Conference on Aging. Carolyn is survived by her husband James L. Rice, children Laura Williams (husband Kara Jr.) and David Rice (wife April), grandchildren Stephanie, Maryann, Clayton, Vivienne, and Isabella Williams, Michael Rice, McKenzie Rodriquez, and Kahli Smith, and great-grandson Kale Rice. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Clayton Davis, her brother Dan, her son James Jr., and her grandson Devin Williams.
