Deborah “Deb” Ann Deering, 64, of California, KY, passed away at her residence on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Happily married to Ron Deering for 44 years, together, they had five children and fourteen grandchildren with the fifteenth due in early August.
Deb loved being outdoors and enjoying nature. A couple of her favorite places to visit were Cumberland Lake to go fishing and her deer stand in the woods on the farm, during hunting season.
Deb and Ron moved from Latonia to their farm in California, KY in August of 1994. It was a dream that they shared for years and Deb was so happy to make it a reality. She loved life on the farm. Most days, even when there were events to attend, mom would rather stay home snuggled up next to Ron by one of the wood burning stoves or sitting on one of three porches, overlooking her beautiful flower beds or the vegetable garden.
Deb had many talents; she dabbled in doing stained glass work, she was an excellent seamstress, she spent many hours crocheting, she was an awesome poet, she made gorgeous flower bouquets for weddings, she wowed everyone with her wonderful paintings and she even processed her own deer meat. She was never afraid to try something new!
She was also known for her green thumb. From days in Latonia starting her botanical garden beds to her farm life in California, where she started her green house business. She always said, “If my flowers bring a smile to at least one person’s face, all the hard work was worth it.”
Her favorite part of life was being a wife and mother, but she especially loved being a grandmother. Her memory has been etched into the minds and hearts of everyone who knew her; we are better for it. She will be greatly missed by many.
Deb was preceded in death by her sister: Pat Dungan and brothers: Tarz Chisenhall and Greg Chisenhall. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years: Ron Deering; daughters: Tina (Michael) Gunn, Beth Deering, Maggie Deering and Genny (James) List; son: Matt (Clara) Deering; sister: Fran (Elmer) Cook; brother: Rodney (Lisa) Chisenhall and 14 grandchildren with the 15th due in early August.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Interment: Mother of God Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Church.
