Donald "Don" William Harmeling, 84, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of Holy Cross Parish and was formerly a member of St. Anthony Parish for 50 years. Don retired as an Offset Pressman with Gibson Greeting Cards after 40 years of service and was a lifetime volunteer member of Taylor Mill Fire Department. He recently celebrated 38 years of sobriety with the help of Alcoholics Anonymous, which he was very proud of. Don enjoyed playing cards and was an avid golfer, but he enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. He was preceded in death by his son: David Harmeling; parents: Clarence and Margaret Harmeling and brother: Paul Harmeling. Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years: Carol Wischer Harmeling; children: Donald "Chip" (Sheila) Harmeling, Jr., Jan Harmeling, and Mark Harmeling; sisters: Diane (Bob) Rogers and Rita Morris and sister-in-law: Jane Harmeling. He was blessed with and cherished his 17 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 10:30 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Interment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery, Fort Wright, KY. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY is serving the family.
