Ella Reynolds Gunkel, 88, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 29, 2024. She was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Covington (Latonia), KY. Ella worked as an executive administrative assistant with Joseph Auto Group. She enjoyed sudoku, crossword puzzles, sewing, spending time with her family and spoiling her dog. Ella was preceded in death by her parents: Delbert and Bessie Reynolds; husband: Earl H. Gunkel; siblings: Ola Cornett, John Reynolds, Clifford Reynolds, Kermit "Paul" Reynolds, Charles Reynolds, Clyde "Obert" Reynolds and granddaughter: Pamela Abner. She is survived by her children: Beverly Abner, Gary Gunkel, Jane Elliott and Robert Gunkel; brother: James (Janice) Reynolds; grandchildren: Bridget Hightower, Teresa "Tia" (Jesse) Pez, Jordyn (Josh) Mardis and Jason Elliott; great-grandchildren: Taylor and Preston and many nieces and nephews. Ella is also survived by her best friend and furry companion: Cody. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015.
