Eugene “Gene” J. Klug, 91, of Raleigh, NC formerly of Covington, KY passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Crabtree Rehab Center in Raleigh, NC. He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII in which he was a P.O.W. Gene is a retired Supervisor with the Los Angeles County, California Mechanical Department. He was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Taylor Mill, KY. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed yoga, reading and traveling with his family in their Motor Home. Gene is survived by his Loving Wife: Lorraine M. Klug; Daughters: Gail (Steve) Reed and Denise Klug; Sister: Doretta (Ray) Moore; 4 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 9:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Anthony Church 485 Grand Avenue Taylor Mill, KY 41015. A Honor Guard Service and Interment will be in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY. Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY is serving the family. While visiting my mother,( Doretta: Gene’s sister), in California over the holidays, my husband and I always looked forward to also enjoying the company of my Uncle Gene and Aunt Lorraine. Gene certainly enjoyed life to the fullest; and now may he rest in peace.
Uncle Gene was a fellow Soldier and one who served his country unselfishly in a time of great need. A great man who will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Rest in Peace.
