Eugenea “Genie” M. Edwards, 71, of Crestview Hills, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was a member of 7 Hills Church and was active in many ministries within the church. She was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Florence, Kentucky, and a member of the Hospital Women’s Auxillary, where she also served as chaplain. She was also a volunteer with the Salvation Army and a member of the art club at Baker-Hunt. Genie enjoyed traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin D. Edwards, a son, Gary Michael Robert Edwards, and a sister, Patti Bischoff. Genie is survived by her sons: Gary (Cheryl) Edwards, Mike (Sonja) Edwards and Rob Edwards; sister: Jody (John) Geisen, 25 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Paul Bischoff. Visitation: 7 Hills Church, 7300 Turfway Road, Florence, KY 41042, on Friday, June 2, 2017, from 10 AM until the funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment: Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to: Salvation Army or 7 Hills Church or St. Elizabeth Hospice. In celebration with the season and her preference, everyone is encouraged to wear bright clothing. Our family are very sad to hear the passing of Genie. She was an amazing woman. Sending our deepest sympathy and condolences to the family. We still live in the home we purchased from Genie.
A beautiful lady who is loved by many special people.
She raised a wonderful group of men and made everyone feel welcome and loved.
I am blessed to have the pleasure of sharing a few meals and good times with this wonderful soul.

Genie was second mom to me growing up; she was and always has been a blessing in my life; to my brothers Gary, Mike and Robbie, I miss you guys and I will most certainly miss mom, she is a beautiful person with an incredible heart and passion for giving, Genie is someone we all should aspire to be !
Genie was a blessing and I enjoyed her humor and having her as a sister in the Lord. She will be missed, but will have a ball with her Lord and will certainly be waiting on the rest of us to join her. The Edward’s family is in my prayers for their loss.

Not that I have to tell, but I will anyway, your mother was an amazing woman! We are friends from church. She was always smiling and truly lit up any room she walked into. Please find comfort in knowing that she is with her Lord. We are all praying for you during this difficult time.
