Francis "Chip" Clingner, Jr., 73, of Latonia, KY passed away Sunday, October 6, 2019 in Florence, KY. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and a retired machinist with Andrews Laser Works Corporation in Wilder, KY. Chip was a Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient who served during the Vietnam Era. He was an avid camper and boater who enjoyed reading, gardening and playing his guitar. Chip was preceded in death by his parents: Francis and Elizabeth Clingner, Sr. and son: Brandon "Orangy" Clingner. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years: Charlene Clingner; daughters: Tonya (Mike Dilts) Clingner and Holly (Benje Watts) Clingner; brother: Ted (Joy) Clingner; sisters: Sylvia (late: Bill) Wilson and Phyllis Rigney; grandchildren: Summer Campbell, Makenzie Watts, Rob Campbell, T.J. Campbell, and Traci Campbell; great-grandchildren: Lia, Quinn, Hannah and Maddox and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. A Honor Guard Service and interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorials are suggested to the veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
