Harry “Butch” Wendling, Jr., 72, of Latonia, KY, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. Butch was a retired Locomotive Engineer with CSX Railroad, who loved Hunting and Fishing. He was an excellent Craftsman and Handyman. He was preceded in death by his parents: Harry and Robbie Wendling, Sr. and brother: David Wendling. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years: Linda Fox Wendling; daughters: Melissa (Mark) Fuller and Ricole (Justin) Neal; son: Jason (Logan) Wendling; sister: Sharon (Gerald) Cruey; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Interment: Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Foundation, P.O. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Butch Wendling.
I remember him well from Lloyd’s Roller Rink, Ritte’s Corner, Rosedale Pool,and just being a Latonia kid.
I had not seen Butch since my family moved to Las Vegas in 1962.
I returned “home” to visit many times, but our paths never crossed again.
He was always a nice guy, and will be missed by all who knew him.
