Howard O. Davis, age 87 of Covington, KY passed away on November 30, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Health Care Hospice in Edgewood, KY. He was a retired Silk Screen Printer, a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio and a Navy Veteran during W.W.II. He enjoyed Fishing and following the Cincinnati Reds. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Shirley Whitton Davis in 2012. Howard is survived by his Sons: Gary J. (Missy) Davis of Villa Hills, KY and Kevin S. (Donna) Davis of Taylor Mill, KY; 4 Grandchildren: Ally Davis, Kyle Davis, Lori (Jamie) McDermott and Matthew Davis. The Visitation will be on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY from 11 AM until the Funeral Service at 1 PM. A Honor Guard service and Interment will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio. Gary and Kevin, I was sad to hear about your dad’s passing when I arrived in KY last Saturday to visit family for the holidays. How can I possibly express briefly what your Mom and Dad meant to mine and our family all those years of card games and visits when we were growing up? I’ll always remember Howard’s laugh and jokes and love of friendship with my parents. Didn’t that generation seem to have a greater gift for simple happiness? Such a kind and good guy; he will be missed. My prayers to your whole family as you go through this first Christmas without him as we do without our Mom. I hope we can carry on the legacy they left us.

I want to say how sad I am for you at the passing of your dad. Uncle Howard was a favorite uncle. He always liked to tell me jokes whenever we would be together and always liked telling me about both of you and your children. I am sad that the last of Nelson and Hannah’s children is gone. That family had some incredible stories and left an important legacy to all of us. They will be missed! My thoughts are with you.
We will always remember Howard being part of the 8:00 am service at Christ Church Cathedral. We are truly sorry and he will be truly missed.
So sad to hear about Howard’s passing. I’m Jack and Cindy’s daughter and have nothing but positive memories of Howard, and of Shirley. He was a great neighbor and I know my parents cherished their relationship with him. Wishing everyone in the Davis family the best,
