James Roy "Jim" Cox, Jr., 71, of Latonia, KY passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2021. He was a retired painter for the University of Cincinnati, a Vietnam Era Army Veteran and a life-time member of the Marshall-Schildmeyer VFW Post 6095 in Latonia, KY. Jim was preceded in death by his mother: Glenna Akers and father: James Roy Cox, Sr. He is survived by his son: James (Michelle) Cox, III, grandchildren: Samantha Cox, Courtney Cox and James Cox, IV; 5 great-grandchildren and several siblings. A Memorial Service will take place at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Latonia, KY 41015 on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Visitation begining at 9:30 AM. Just saw Jimmy on March 10, 2021. He came to the house to visit and chat. His dad, Jim Cox, taught me to plaster and general contracting, along with painting. We played together as kids and have a lot of fond memories of him throughout the years. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and sorry I did not know sooner. My prayers and condolences are with his friends and family🙏😥❤️

He was not only a neighbor but also a dear friend... I will miss the stories of his younger years, which brought back wonderful memories of my grandpa and great grandpa telling their stories under the tree in the front yard... I'll never eat banana nut bread again without thinking of him...he'd always say "I can take care of that" as his eyes lit up and we both would laugh...I miss him already...feels like I've lost a family member myself...he will never be forgotten...I'm so so sorry for the pain his family is going through...sending hugs and keeping them in my prayers...
