Craig, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. To be honest, I was floored when I heard the news. Your mother was a remarkable woman, and in many ways like a second mother to me. She had a huge impact on my life growing up, and is partially responsible for any success I've had in life. I don't think that I would have been able to pay my way through college without the support and encouragement of your mother. She made sure that the waitresses put 10% in my envelope at the end of the day. She even arranged that I could work during my vacation at Holiday Inn to make extra money. I don't have to tell you what a hard worker she was, and she set an example for me that I've tried to live up too all these years. When she moved to the Roundtowner / Drawbridge I naturally followed her to be close to her. I spent almost 20 years in the restaurant business, and I tell everyone that thanks to your Mom, I learned a skill that enabled be to take care of myself for the rest of my life. I like to think I could still wait tables. As you know, the restaurant business is like a family, and some of my happiest days were spent with your Mom, Margie, Ruth, Virginia,Leon,Louella, Evelyn and the rest of the crew at Holiday Inn. I tell everyone that I should have received a diploma when I left. In many ways I learned more there than I did in college, certainly about life. I was blessed to have been a part of the McAlpin family. I got to know not only your Mom, but your Dad,sister and you yourself. I still talk about rooming with you at UK to my own sons, and grandchildren. Your Mom always had a strong faith in God, and I know that she's resting in the arms of our Lord, and Saviour. We can all take comfort in knowing that she's reunited with your Dad and Peggy Jo, and that we will see her once again. On behalf of myself, Linda, my sister Donna, and the entire Moore family, I want to extend to you our sincere condolences. I wish that I had been able to see her once again before she passed so that I could have thanked her for all that she'd done for me. I would like to think that see knew that already. I'd love to get together sometime to catch up on old times. Love Tim

I enjoyed talking to Jane when I had my hair done and she was working. She was witty and loved everyone. I always said I wanted to be her when I "grew Up." She was a remarkable person and will be missed. Condolences to her loved ones.
