Jerry Rump, age 72, of Crestview Hills, KY passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 after complications from a stroke. Jerry was the founder and former owner/president of Jero, Inc. a manufacturing company in Florence, KY and was awarded several patents throughout the years. Jerry was also the owner of Sableux, a Salon/Spa in Crestview Hills, KY. With such a zest for life, Jerry enjoyed many things, including world travel, great conversation, spending time with his family and many, many friends. Jerry loved brain-teasers and doing his morning Jumble and Sudoku puzzles. He was a role model for many, respected by all and loved dearly by all his family members and friends around the world. He extended his charities to many worthy organizations, often anonymously. Jerry was an avid golfer who spent the winter months at his home in Naples, FL. He played basketball for Adolph Rupp at the University of Kentucky and also played at Xavier University. Before college he was drafted to play baseball by the Milwaukee Braves but chose basketball instead. He was preceded in death by his First Wife: Becky Rump (1970) Second Wife: Sandra Rump (2009) and Brother: Chubby Rump. Jerry is survived by his 5 “Kiddos”, Daughters: Shelly Summe, Barb (Mike) Wulker, Lorie (Bill) Bailey and Tracy (Jerry) Maccioli; Son: Randy (Michelle) Rump; Sisters: Carolyn Blasingame and Teresa Rump; Brothers: Tom (Bea) Rump, Ken (Joan) Rump and Steve (Cathy) Rump; 15 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild with one on the way. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Cross Church in Latonia, KY on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY is serving the family. Dearest family of Jerry,
Jerry and Sandy have been friends we’ve traveled with to Europe, Puerto Vallarta, and the Caribbean. I am thankful for the adventures and fun we’ve shared and it’s so hard to have Jerry gone from us too. He was such a special person and I’m sure all of you, his family, miss him too.
May all or our memories of Jerry shine bright in our hearts as we remember him with love. We were proud to call him a friend and will miss him dearly.
May God’s love continue to comfort all of you during this time.
