Joseph R. Ortwein, 78, of Covington, KY passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, member of St. Anthony Church in Taylor Mill, KY and retired from Cintas where he was a Receiving Clerk. Joseph enjoyed fishing, golf, watching the Bengals and his grandchildren play in their sporting events. He was preceded in death by his Loving Wife: Eleanor Nienaber Ortwein. Joseph is survived by his Daughter: Karen (Jim) Tackett; Sons: David (Becky) Ortwein, Greg Ortwein and Mark (Angie) Ortwein; Sister: Catherine Perdue and 9 Grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, November 3, 2014 from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony Church 485 Grand Avenue Taylor Mill, KY 41015. Interment will be at Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY. Memorial Suggestions should go to the Charity of Donor’s Choice. So sorry to hear of the loss of your father Joe. Your Mom & Dad and family were a part of so many of our fond childhood memories. We had some good times together. My parents Ray & Mary Ellen were the best of friends with your parents and have always had a special bond with them. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Very sorry for your loss. I feel like I have known your dad all my life. Now my daughter and Joe’s grandaughter are buddies making an even deeper relationship. We are praying for comfort for all of your families.
