Kathleen F. McDermott, 72, of Erlanger, KY, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025. She was a 1971 graduate of Covington Holmes High School and attended Northern Kentucky University. Kathleen enjoyed antiquing, reading and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lloyd and Jenny McDermott and brothers: Phillip McDermott and Rodney "Mac" McDermott. Kathleen is survived by her siblings: Tim (Cathy) McDermott and Maureen McDermott and several nieces and nephews. Services for Kathleen will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Interment: Independence Cemetery, 5358 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Memorials are suggested to: Holmes High School Alumni Association, 2500 Madison Avenue, Suite #1, Covington, KY 41014. Kathy was my lifelong friend. As children we played at each others homes. I remember both her mother, Jenny, and her father, Lloyd. As young adults we were in the same Confirmation class at St. Marks United Church of Christ. Our strong friendship continued during our years at Holmes High school. She had a gift for making us happy and keeping us laughing. In recent years when we met and spoke, our knowledge of family and friends continued. I will hold her memory deep in my heart and miss her dearly.

I worked with Kathy for many years at St. Elizabeth. She was a great friend, thoughtful, kind and funny! She was loved by her co-workers and she will be missed.
