Kenneth Martin "Marty" Thomas, 75, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025. He was a member of Burlington Bible Church in Burlington, Kentucky. Marty was a 1967 graduate of Covington Holmes High School and attended Thomas More College for 2 years before starting a family. He served as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT in Florence, Kentucky for 43 years and became a Kentucky Colonel for his many years of service. Marty retired from Sachs Automotive/ZF Steering. He also coached youth football for the Boone County PeeWee Football League for over 20 years. Marty was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Evelyn Lucille Thomas Sr. and brother: Bill W. (Sandy) Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years: Erena Jane "Janie" Thomas; 4 children: Christopher Martin "Mongo" (Tricia) Thomas, Sean Michael "Tater" Thomas, Jason Patrick (Misty) Thomas and Elizabeth Dyan "Sis" Thomas; 3 grandchildren: Kaili Ann Thomas, Emma Grace Thomas and Kallen Christopher Thomas; 3 Step-grandchildren: Bella, Kathryn and Jacob; 3 great-grandchildren: Luca, Amelia and Owen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and a large extended family. Visitation will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025 from 12:00 PM Noon until 3:00 PM at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 E Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. The funeral service will take place the following day on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Connley Brothers Funeral Home. Interment: Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Florence Fire Department, 1152 Weaver Road, Florence, KY 41042. Connley Brothers Funeral Home, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 is serving the family. May God welcome you my man. You have all your family together now what a treat that had to be. We have many memories together when we were young but time causes distance in many family like ours. Tell everyone to save a place for me hope it shouldn’t be took but thankfully it’s Gods choice not ours.
