Marlene Margarete Helena Allen, 65, of Latonia, KY, formerly of Giessen, Germany, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. She was a Chef with Kremer’s Market who enjoyed expressing her German heritage by taking part in German Heritage Festivals and listening to German music by Gephardt Earler. Marlene also enjoyed watching Bengals Football and listening to Bluegrass and Cajun Music. She was a devoted caregiver who always put the needs of her husband, children and grandchildren before her own. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents: Werner and Inge (Goebler) Gura. She is survived by her beloved husband: Mike Allen; daughter: Melanie Pickett; son: Bobby (April) Pickett; sister: Gabi (Hartmut) Nestler; brother: Manfred (Monica) Gura; grandchildren: William Pickett and Caitlin McIntosh; great-aunt: Inge Dubowy; cousin: Thomas Dubowy; nieces: Anne Nestler and Ina Nestler; nephew: Dennis Gura: her Kremer’s Market family and her devoted companion: Palmer the dog. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 3:00 P.M. until the Catholic Blessing at 5:00 P.M. at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Foundation or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I was to hear about the accident that took away the beautiful life of Marlene. I have come to know and love Marlene from Kremer’s Market. I can’t quite put into words but Marlene was special. I will surely miss her. I will keep your family in my prayers.
