Leave a message of condolence

On Sunday, January 15th, Michael (Mike) Duncan went to Christ surrounded by his loving family at the age of 74. Born on November 12th, 1948, Mike grew up in Michigan City and Ft Wayne, Indiana. He was a general manager of Value City, working primarily in Covington, KY and Dover, DE. With his loving personality and witty humor, Mike brightened every room he walked into. He greeted strangers and family alike - with a big smile and a warm hug. He was an avid fan of professional sports and would typically know the score of any game. This was especially true of his beloved Cincinnati Reds. He would have loved to see them clinch another pennant but will be keeping stats from heaven. Mike was always available for a witty conversation, a cold beer, and laughter. His quiet humor brought joy to any situation. He truly loved life. For Mike, family was his everything. He was married for 36 years to his loving wife, Betsy. They were soulmates. He loved to love her, often placing her on a pedestal and calling her the love of his life. He considered himself lucky to have two incredible daughters. He was so proud of them, often sharing their adventures and triumphs with friends and family. He worked hard to make sure his daughters had the best opportunities and he celebrated every milestone with gusto. To Mike, his girls hung the moon in the sky. He showed others the beauty of a husband's and father's love. Michael was preceded in death by parents: Mabel and Bill Duncan; brother-in-law: Craig Barnes and sister-in-law: Kim Murphy. He is survived by his wife: Betsy Duncan; his two daughters: Amy Duncan and Sophie Duncan; his brother: Tom (Peggy) Duncan; brothers and sisters in-law: Kevin (Martha) Barnes, Barbie and Kelly Barnes, and many nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Public Visitation will take place at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 11:00 AM until the Memorial Service at 12:00 PM (Noon). Entombment: Mother of God Cemetery, Ft. Wright, KY. The family requests no flowers be sent. Memorials in Mike's honor may be made to: Red's Community Fund, 100 Joe Nuxhall Way, Cincinnati, OH 45202 or calling 513-765-7000 and select Option 2.
