Sending many prayers to the Yeagle family and the Beechwood school community. May the love of God comfort you during this difficult time. Although it has been nearly 50 years since I was a part of the Beechwood community, the memories flash forward in my mind as it happened yesterday. I first met Mike in '75 when I was a first year teacher and an assistant football coach on Bernie Barre's staff at Beechwood- my first job after I graduated from Muskingum College. Mike demonstrated early on--as our freshman QB that he wanted to lead and he gave 100% every day to get better-- a product of his upbringing from his father Joe and his mother Peggy. Although I was at Beechwood for a short time (3 years), Mike would tell me numerous times during his HS career that he wanted to go to Muskingum after graduation and play football if he was good enough. Mike would overcome his lack of size with his fire, fortitude, and determination to do just that-- start at strong safety for the Fighting Muskies for three years. Most of us know the rest of Mike's history-- his coaching successes and outstanding career as he returned to Beechwood as part of Coach Barre's staff and then developed his own program--his legacy at Beechwood. Mike and I lost touch over the years as I transitioned into business away from Northern Kentucky, but there is a strong respect that I will always have for all of those in the Beechwood community (former students, parents, former student-athletes & fellow coaches/friends). Rest in Peace Mike. Jim Rockwell- Akron, OH

Michael Yeagle was a man who was greatly liked by his boys who spent some hot and sweaty days in August practicing for the Wins" they would have on the Fall Football Schedule and "Championships" Down State. Mike Yeagle was Mr. Beechwood for our son, John and it made us proud as we watched him play football those winning years in the nineties. Mike will be greatly missed by all who went to Beechwood and knew him not only as a football coach, but also as a person who taught them how to become great men and women for the future. Our condolences to his mother and siblings and extended family.

He was one of my all time favorites at Beechwood on and off the field he was always a class act and it didn't matter if you were on the team or not, if you had a problem you were dealing with he would listen and offer advice and take an interest in you. I can still hear him shouting in class at us saying "Jean jacket gang quiet down and pay attention" We were paying attention he would just laugh and say I just like picking on you guys and giving you a hard time.
