Niel “Rusty” Nielander, age 79, of Latonia, KY passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Edgewood, KY. He was a Covington, Kentucky Firefighter from which he retired from in 1975 with the rank of Captain. He also bravely served our country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Niel was preceded in death by his Daughter: Debbie Nielander. He is survived by his Wife: Ann Carole Nielander; Daughters: Carole (John) Snape, Jeri Stone and Elizabeth (Scotty) Kemery; Sons: James (Debra) Nielander, Thomas (Jennie) Nielander, Joseph (Rebecca) Nielander and Emmett (Joyce) White; Sister: Kathleen Carnahan; 19 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY from 9 AM until Funeral Service begins at 11 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2013. An Honor Guard Service and Interment will follow in Mother of God Cemetery in Fort Wright, KY. Memorial Contributions are suggested to any Veteran’s of Foreign War Post.
