Patricia “Paddy” Darpel, 86, of Fort Mitchell, KY, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. She retired in 1990 as a Supervisor with the I.R.S. in Covington, KY. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and a former Secretary at Holy Cross Rectory, assisting Msgr. Finn. Paddy was passionate about being with her family, she loved life, she had a great sense of humor and she loved to have fun. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Judy Heidrich, Terry Hoffman and Kay Hunzicker. Paddy is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years: Bob Darpel; daughters: Risa (Tony) Maile and Becky Darpel; sons: Gary (Michelle) Darpel and Toby (Angie) Darpel; sister: Bobby Jo Mains; grandchildren: Tara (Ryan) Dale, Stacey (Neil) Bergman, Hayley (Justin Williams) Darpel, Jennifer (Corey) Dolan and Julie (John) Wahba and 7 great-grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 4:30 P.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 P.M. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. Entombment: Mother of God Cemetery. Memorial are suggested to the Holy Cross High School, Alumni Association, 3617 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 or St. Elizabeth Hospice, 483 South Loop Road, Edgewood, KY 41017. Your mother was one of the warmest and most caring people I have had the pleasure of knowing. She was the type of person who inspired integrity in those around her; she encouraged others to be the best people they could be. I’m praying that God grants you strength at this time, and that He gives you comfort knowing she is with Him for she was a faithful servant. May the Good Shepherd bless and keep you and give you peace.
