Phyllis M. Hemer Owens, 91, of Ventura, California, formerly of Covington, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017. She was a dedicated homemaker, a member of Florence United Methodist Church, a member of the New Friends of Northern Kentucky, a member of several bridge groups, an active member in several bible study groups and a volunteer with New Hope Center. Phyllis loved sewing and her dog Cherie. She was preceded in death by her husband: Brigadier General Thurman Owens on February 22, 2004. Phyllis is survived by her daughter: Cheryl L. (Rick) Cline; sons: William T. (Cindy) Owens and Anthony L. Owens; grandsons: Tyson (Kim) Cline, Darren Cline, Nicholas Carroll and William M. Owens; great-grandsons: Jadon Cline and Sawyer Cline and several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The funeral will take place at Connley Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. Interment: Highland Cemetery.
