Rector F. "Butch" Bussell, Jr.,  71, of Taylor Mill, KY passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023. He was a local and over the road truck driver. Butch was a First Sergeant, Combat Engineer U.S. Army Veteran with 35+ years of military service. He served in Operation Desert Storm and did 2 tours in Iraq. Butch was a member of the Marshall-Schildmeyer VFW Post #6095, in Latonia, KY. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rector and Geneva Bussell, Sr. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 50 years: Emma J. Bussell and daughters: Sheila Ann (Kenneth Bergelt) Bussell, Michele F. (late: Jason) Napier, Sarah Elizabeth (Karlas Faulkner) Bussell and Lisa Marie (Daniel) Timmers; siblings: Gloria J. (Thomas) Haussler and Kenneth Bussell; niece: Teresa Perkins; nephews: Garry Bussell and Adam Robinson; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Interment with Honor Guard Service: Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to: Cincinnati V.A. Medical Center, 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45220. I had the honor of serving with then MSG Bussell on my second tour in Iraq. He was a great mentor and friend. I, with many of his Brothers and Sisters, will miss him dearly. Prayers go out to his Family and Friends.
