Ruby Sumner Jones, 94, passed away Monday morning November 20th, 2023. She was born July 5th, 1929 to Roscoe and Gertie Sumner. Ruby moved to Springfield, Missouri at the age of 14, and soon started working at OReilly General Hospital, an army base for wounded soldiers during World War 2. When the war ended she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where she met her husband Ralph Jones. They were married March 25th, 1948, and had two children, Larry Michael and Melissa Kaye. Ruby and Ralph lived in Covington, Kentucky for more than 45 years, during which Ralph served as a pastor at 3 different churches in the area. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Jones, her son, Larry Michael, her brothers Oscar and Raymond Sumner, and her sister, Ruth Curley. She is survived by her sister, Adalene Morris, her daughter, Melissa (Wayne) Wynkoop, and her daughter-in-law, Judy Jones. She was an active grandmother to five grandchildren, Kimm (Jared), Carrie (Buster), Mike (Kara), Sarah (Aaron), and Joanna (Tyler), and was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Covington, Kentucky on Saturday, November 25th, 2023. Visitation starts at 9:00 am, and a funeral will follow visitation at 10:30 am.
