Shirley Elliott Wermeling, age 76 of Covington, KY passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of St. John Church and very instrumental in her Husband’s Political Career, as Constable, City Commissioner and Mayor of Covington. She was a Graduate and Prom Queen of Holy Cross High School, an employee of Coppins Department Store and instrumental in the installation of the Crossing Light at 7th & Madison in Covington, KY. Shirley is survived by her Husband of 58 years this month: George Wermeling of Covington, KY; Daughter & Son-in-law: Melinda and Tim Lampke of Latonia, KY; Brother: Michael (Diane) Elliott of Florence, KY and 3 Grandchildren: Max & Carley Lampke and Sarah Drew. The Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. John Church 627 Pike Street Covington, KY 41011 from 8:30 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment in Mother of God Cemetery in Covington, KY. Memorials to: St. John Church. Connley Brothers Funeral Home in Latonia, KY is serving the family.
