Thomas R. McCormack, 98, of Covington, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, as part of the 808th Engineers, during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Thomas retired after 40 years as a Railroad Engineer with the Pennsylvania Railroad (Conrail). He was a member of St. Benedict Parish for 68 years, a member of the St. Benedict Holy Name Society, a member of the American Legion Post #203 and an avid golfer. Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Virginia Foster McCormack; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his daughters: Nancy Glick and Judie (Les) Kafel; son: Patrick (Ruth) McCormack; sisters: Patricia Keeney, Kathleen Peter and Rosemary McCormack, O.S.B.; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 P.M. at St. Benedict Church, 338 East 17th Street, Covington, KY 41014. Interment with Military Honors will take place at Mother of God Cemetery on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 9:00 A.M. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Church. Tommy has a special place in my heart and life. As a neighbor in years’ past he was great eve teaching me how to garden and always welcoming of me when I visited after I moved away. I will miss him. My prayers for each of you, family members.

I am so sorry for the loss of you father. I work At Madonna manor on 3rd shift memory care. I was off the night your father passed I work the floor your father was on. He is a great guy and he would talk to me about when he was a boxer. He will be missed.
